He should get a wet piece of cardboard as VP to energize his campaign.

Trump sending DACA back to Congress is probably appropriate and, furthermore, a somewhat savvy political move.

Congress needs to do something, anything with immigration or pay the consequences of not doing so at the ballot box. Americans need to start actually weighing issues instead of letting a God-like president figure it out with presidential edicts.

I mean, I'm OK with DACA dreamers being here. They've lived here most of all of their lives. So, create a law that keeps them here. End this goofy limbo.

If Donald Trump's actions lead to a permanent fix to help "dreamers" it will be a wholly unintended consequence.

For Trump, it almost seems that the fact of Obama, the fact of a black president, insulted him personally. The insult intensified when Obama and Seth Meyers publicly humiliated him at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2011. But the bloody heirloom ensures the last laugh. Replacing Obama is not enough—Trump has made the negation of Obama’s legacy the foundation of his own. And this too is whiteness. “Race is an idea, not a fact,” the historian Nell Irvin Painter has written, and essential to the construct of a “white race” is the idea of not being a nigger. Before Barack Obama, niggers could be manufactured out of Sister Souljahs, Willie Hortons, and Dusky Sallys. But Donald Trump arrived in the wake of something more potent—an entire nigger presidency with nigger health care, nigger climate accords, and nigger justice reform, all of which could be targeted for destruction or redemption, thus reifying the idea of being white. Trump truly is something new—the first president whose entire political existence hinges on the fact of a black president. And so it will not suffice to say that Trump is a white man like all the others who rose to become president. He must be called by his rightful honorific—America’s first white president.

    The First White President

The funny thing about the Clinton book tour - she's probably doing a better job uniting the Dems with it than if she had just let it go. I think most Dems are eager to move on - even her supporters. I don't know if her closest advisors are her closest advisors because they give her the worst advice in order to remain her closest advisors - or she just has terrible instincts.
She didn't really learn much as a candidate in 2008, clearly didn't pick up much more in 2016.
Just because what she might say in the book is true - doesn't mean she should be the one who says it. It comes off as self-serving at best. When 70 pct of the population has a problem with you - even if they are wrong to think it - it is your problem to deal with - not theirs. Listening to people who say "No - they're wrong, you're awesome" isn't going to fix the problem.

Believing a Dreamer bill is his fully intended endgame is naive.

If it happens to turn into a bill, he'll take credit for it gladly. But if Congress can't do it, and they've failed at less controversial bills, then the vans are coming for dreamers, and he will gladly take credit for that too.

The leopards are not just a clever threat to motivate people. They have and will continue to actually eat people's faces.
