Hope Jeff asks for her top 10 all-time MCs and does a comparison/contrast with his nephew's list.

    Wasn't she?

I'm no particular fan of Hill, but she was a well-known columnist at a top-20 daily newspaper out of more than 1,300 in the U.S. That puts her at least in the 99th percentile.

That has nothing to do with whether she was good.

For the "things that make you feel old" thread, I remember when she was a columnist and in the crosshairs often around here. I can't recall specific incidences (I can't remember what I had for dinner two days ago) but there were enough to pretty well disqualify her from "one of the America's best columnists" consideration.

Our business can be a star system and she was pegged as a star. Once that happens, you're golden.

I'd have to go back over her oerve, but I don't know that I ever learned anything from her or thought about something differently. I recall that she ended up in predicaments like this quite a bit, dashing off meatball opinions that she thought were edgy and insightful but really belonged in a college newspaper.

Fool Me Once....ESPN Suspends Jemele Hill

There are 30 voices at this site alone I would read any day.

Good on her, though. She found her niche as a "personality," and I'm sure she's a wealthy woman and that she enjoys reporting to work every day. That's the dream.

The thing I vaguely remember was when she was a columnist in Orlando, she wrote about her um, blow job experiences on a blog, and it raised a few eyebrows.

I'll take Bomani and Stephen A over the other two, and Hill, too.

Typically references to that early-career misstep on this site have been deleted during prior moderator administrations.

Much like PMs, are such references now fair game?

My brother-in-law absolutely loves Bomani Jones. I've never listened to him or read him. I don't listen to many national guys, though, other than the occasional "Mike & Mike" and the Gary Parrish college basketball podcast.

Bomani's pretty decent. Hasn't really blown me away.
