Not new, but You're the Worst came back on FX this week and was excellent, as expected. Looking forward to Better Things coming back next week as well.

The new season of BoJack is well made and well performed ... but is any of it any fun? I suspect it's not supposed to be, but then why am I watching?

  3. No.
I assumed at the end of Season 2 - when he flew out with the family - he wasn't coming back. Right?
But no mention of him so far.

I know the actor won't be back, just surprised they didn't write him off with a "went back to the states and leads a team in San Diego or some such."

Yes, but plenty of people thought MacFarlane's "western" movie was a trainwreck ... and plenty of people laughed their asses off, too.

MacFarlane, either you like his schtick or you don't. And I think this show looks like it's built for him.

I have a conflicted relationship with MacFarlane, with the caveat that I haven't even seen his Western movie. Family Guy, I loved the pre-cancellation seasons and the first season back, but after that, it just seemed like gross-out humor for the sake of seeing what they could get on TV. (I think the worst was when Brian got herpes.) But, I still liked American Dad quite a bit, although how much of a day-to-day influence he had on that was unknown. I also like the FG Star Wars spoofs.

I saw it, and I kinda liked it. I'll definitely give it another try, and I'm definitely not a Star Wars/Star Trek guy. Didn't realize Adrianne Palicki was in it; that is a plus.

I wonder if MacFarlane has gotten bored with Family Guy, but it's such a money machine that it's hard to pull the plug. There's definitely been a tonal shift in some of the recent seasons, with more long-term character development and running plots (especially with regards to Brian) rather than the usual one-off episodes it had earlier in its run.
Amazing that Family Guy is coming up on its 300th episode this year. I remember watching it in the days when every episode seemed to be on a different night each week.

    She does add something. :)

I also watched tonight. It was okay, good enough to be worth watching again next week. I'm not sold just yet.

I am very much the target audience because I am a Star Wars/Star Trek guy.

Missed season one. Just caught up on season two. I find it extremely entertaining to the point that I don't mind the plot holes you could drive a truck through.

Tomorrow is the last day you can watch season two online if you have a paid access to TNT.

On a plane that is killing my back because I'm squeezed next to an equally large fella, but I have stumbled onto an HBO show called Crashing that is incredibly good. Guy named Peter Holmes who I never heard of till now and T.J. Miller are the primary fellas and so far they play well off each other. Some good depth to the writing. Nothing about it is bad or forced or labored.

My girlfriend liked Girls, so I would catch that afterwards and I really enjoyed it. Artie Lange does surprisingly great work on the show too.
