    The phrase "New Wave Hipster" is like the Bat Signal for me.

    Teenage Fanclub is like the spiritual descendant of Big Star -- brilliant power pop band beloved by record store clerks and aging hipsters and unknown by everyone else. I don't know why that is, but seemingly every power pop band falls into that. For the life of me I can't figure out why bands like that never find a bigger audience.
