Everybody needs a break now and then.

I don't get why you and @MisterCreosote didn't at least call someone an asshole on the way out, and take a suspension.

Gosh I wish there was someplace where I could discuss the tweet I just saw regarding the Mooch.

I never understood what it took to get a suspension here. I think the only time I ever actively tried to get one is when Boom and I engaged in a nuclear flame war, but I think I hadn't been enough of a problem child previously to warrant one so it all died down after the thread was locked, But man, I was at the Kentucky Derby (in the old press box) and I was firing weapons grade plutonium at him, begging to be suspended. It was the angriest I've ever been.

You need to go after a more sympathetic opponent. I'll have to PM you some suggestions. If I mention them here, I'll get in trouble.

Legit question: Why do you guys not create a sub-board somewhere to discuss politics that is essentially unmoderated? I don't think you were around, but like eight years ago, there was some technical meltdown (like the owners took our donations and didn't pay the bills) and SJ was down for like two weeks. 21 googled the coding that this board uses and found a soccer board that had been virtually dormant for like a year. We literally (like hundreds of us) went over to that site for a few weeks, and it was the original fallout shelter. It was stupid fun. The soccer owner guy was totally overwhelmed to log into his board and see hundreds of journalists doing their crazy inside jokes and arguments.

You should legitimately take some of that coffee money and set up a board that's just for people here to argue politics and agree to keep those arguments there. Moddy would probably thank you to the high heavens.

Just put the hammer on politics altogether and let those who are so inclined figure it out from there.

    And then make it stick.

I think there's been a discussion about journalism here - a fairly robust one, actually - about a lot of things: Double standards in the industry, the line between personal worries and professional obligations, the intersection of politics, race and sports and, of course, whether ESPN is really a liberal network. I can appreciate how much of that may hit home.

I was genuinely interested in what you meant, but OK.

Just make proclamations and be above it all.
