I hear Joe's Auto Repair and Dental Work is a good place to go.

I had to get over my dental phobia this summer. I stopped going b/c doctors said my Dad might have gotten bacterial meningitis from a wound that developed after a dental procedure. I knew if that was the cause, it was b/c my Dad was careless and not b/c of poor work by the dentist, but still.

Anyway, I lost another filling this summer when I ate Swedish Fish (those things are the devil) and I got tired of both sides of my mouth throbbing and trying to chew with my front teeth, so I sacked up and went to a local dentist whose office building (a converted house) reminded me of my childhood dentist. Turned out I needed two teeth pulled (the two that were throbbing) and four cavities filled. Dodged a root canal, and I picked literally the rainiest day of the summer to get the teeth extracted, so things turned out pretty well, but I'm pretty sure I put his kid thru college.

People who don't get novocaine are insane. It's bad enough watching your saliva go airborne as the guy drills you. Plus, being numbed up and being aware the dentist is yanking a tooth out for good is better than getting knocked out and being all loopy the rest of the day.
