Meanwhile in College Arena Bowl II, Texas Tech kicking off to Arizona St with a 52-45 lead and 1:55 left.

That's really too bad for Texas, but I don't think it's going to take Herman long to get that program back where it should be.

OK, back to the late night games.
Ole Miss and Cal in a tight one, and San Diego State leading Stanford in the third quarter. First time in a while I've gotten done with work early enough to enjoy some of these, and now I feel like somebody fired an 8-ball of coke into my brain. Just wired all of a sudden.

    Tech holds on 52-45
    Shimonek goes 37-50 for 543 and 6.

Ole Miss apparently didn't bring a pep band to Berkley, which avoids God knows how much rioting and property damage.

What's up with the Ole Miss QB wearing number 20?

Maybe he is a big Bernie Kosar fan?

    It's college. That's allowed.
    Not unprecedented, either.

I know it's allowed, I don't remember seeing it recently though.

He seems like an agitator. Is he an agitator?

He's pretty darned good in a league without many top QBs.

Don't think so. He's been anointed as the next savior of Ole Miss football, though, so there might be some cockiness that goes with that. He's also living up to the hype. Only a sophomore and he's already pretty damn solid.
Between him and Nick Fitzgerald, the Egg Bowl could be a hell of a lot of fun this year.

Nice handoff to the defense there.
