(White Nationalists and neo-Nazis practice their First Amendment rights and right to freedom of expression in the form of protest. Trump condemns the White Nationalists and Neo-Nazis, their ideology, and all instances of violence in the name of politics.)

Deskgrunt: Why won't the President be more forceful in his condemnation of these folks who were practicing their First Amendment rights and right to freedom of expression in the form of protest?

    Yep.

People who think he's an idiot probably don't remember the 1988 presidential election, which was decided, in part, on the issue of flag desecration and (card carrying) membership in the ACLU.

Republicans have been on the losing side of cultural issues -- gay marriage -- in recent years.

But, if the culture issue battlefield is love of country, respect for the flag, support for the police, etc., Trump will crush his opponents, and make them look ridiculous.

    Tear the league apart?

As for your "white racism" comment, I mean, clever turn there, but many liberals in America are obsessed with Trump's every move. The sheer amount of attention paid this man is a direct result of the media knowing his schtick sells - whether people love him or hate-read/watch him.

Trump's understanding of how cheap American culture really is stands as his key strength. Most of what he says is red meat BS - sound and fury, signifying nothing. Why do we insist on rising to every stupid thing he says?

Because having a white racist President is bad news, and people need to know the score, that's why. As for "tear the league apart" there has always been a fault line within the league's business model, strong young men most of whom are black whacking each other with extreme violence and guaranteed health issues for the entertainment of fans most of whom are middle aged or older and most of whom are white men. Anything that destabilizes that uneasy equilibrium is a threat to that model. This does.

Gutless. Never references "the president " or President Trump or even "White House."
Then goes into convenient dodge/digression mode.

To ignore his daily propaganda attacks would normalize them. You wanna be Alabama?

Boy, that would be a disaster for Trump, huh?

Even worse, he's probably counting on it.

Not good to have a president who encourages the further polarization of the country.

It will be if any number of them are white.

Thank God our natural economic structure isn't whatever we had from the 1950s-90s, but a world where most folks grind out less prosperous livings and the money just stays nice and concentrated up top. (Not arguing there's anything right about one way or the other, but getting the sense we are returning to the late 19th century style of prosperity when it comes to certain sorts of work, and that our most prosperous time was the outlier on account of strong labor distorting things)

These things are all considered one thing, and thus the battle is mostly over.
