    Why should Kaep be absolved of his ignorance of Cuba's situation? He shouldn't. He's a smart guy. (He is.) He should know better.

    If you go back to the initial discussion here when Kaepernick's protest broke, I thought it was a squandered opportunity because the guy with the courage of his supposed convictions did not convincingly articulate any convictions.

    But a discussion about whether Collin Kaepernick "likes America" is in the, "Is Joe Flacco an elite quarterback?" and, "Is Taylor Swift a goopleplonpim?" category.

    It depends how you define "goopleplonpim," and that is exceedingly uninteresting to me.

    I think it's worth noting all this hubbub this weekend happened as Little Rock was commemorating the 60th anniversary of the desegregation of Central High.

    The point is, his protest wasn’t simply about inequality and police brutality, and he didn’t choose the National Anthem as the venue simply to bring attention to the issue.
