Democrats can win so long as they budge on some aspects of their social agenda. But that's hard, because that means some aggrieved person will be upset and it may make the candidate less cool in the eyes of some TV host or local activist.

Moore believes homosexual conduct should be made illegal. If that's not enough to make you vote against him ....

Those qualifications are precisely why he has no chance. The voters of Alabama -- remember that minorities have obstacles to voting -- generally disdain anybody who would prosecute Klansmen or oppose big business.

It would totally be in the best interests of the national Republican party for Moore to lose. If/when he wins and gets to Washington, he won't be a quiet, respectful freshman Senator. He'll be looking to run his mouth to the widest possible audience every day, and the other Republicans will have to answer questions about it almost every day, and see Moore's mug in Democratic attack ads, etc. It'd be as if Al Sharpton was a Senator from New York instead of a talking head.

Maybe they could pre-censure him, just to get it out of the way.

Hanging out with my folks on vacation and just saw that Megan Kelly's got Jane Fonda on her little Today sub-show today. That'll help that Fox News audience cross over.

Alabama will not vote for a Democrat. Moore will keep a low profile, send out some ads about socialism and Obamacare and he will cruise.

Such as? A lot of budging is required to shift someone whose thinking is aligned with Moore's to believing that the other guy just might be OK after all.

Man has never kept a low profile in his adult life. Not likely to start now.

Not sure if my daughter would be better off in Castro’s Cuba or Saudi Arabia.

They’re both so much better than the U.S.

My wife's family is from Alabama. Two of them are coming to visit today. She is a native of the upper portion of the state whose family were farmers. He was career Army. Both are pushing 70. They are absolutely mortified by Moore. They are voting Jones, but admit he no chance in hell.
