I came close when I took my nephew to see Dawn of the Dead. It was an early-afternoon showing on a weekday at the multiplex in a mall in Charleston. It definitely added a little something to the atmosphere to be the only two people in a mall theater watching a movie about a zombie apocalypse which was set in a mall.

My nephew darn near jumped out of his seat when they theater door opened to let the a guy cleaning up in during the credits. If you haven't seen the movie, it has a mid-credits scene. It was one of the first I'd seen and it completely changes the ending.

I think I've been to four movies where I ended up being the only person (or only group) in the theater. The best was when it was just me and my son for "Sing." (the others included "Casino Royale," "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and there's a fourth I'm forgetting.

Finally watched 'Wonder Woman.' I didn't think it was anything special.
I wanted more of the WW musical theme. I love that. She and that bit of music were the best part of that dumb Batman vs. Superman movie.
Speaking of which, WW seemed a lot more powerful in the climactic fight than she seemed to be in the Batman vs. Superman movie.
Gal Gadot is certainly easy to look at, but pretty wooden throughout. Maybe intentionally so.

Also watched 'The Mummy' reboot with Tom Cruise. That was dumb.

The first time I had a theater to myself was when I went to see "Naked Gun 33 1/3." I was in college in San Diego and went on a weekday matinee when I didn't have classes or work. I knew it wouldn't be full but I was surprised there was no one else in there.

There was one other time in recent years. I went in and as starting time was upon us, the theater employee came in to check out the theater and saw me, and I said "Hey, I'm ready when you are." We both had a laugh about that. Can't remember the movie though; it might have been "The Other Guys" but I'm not sure. Again, a weekday matinee.

To clarify, this statement serves to indicate that:
    1. The movie was dumb.
    B. My decision to watch the movie was dumb.

    Meh.
Hart and Johnson. Can't miss right? It does.
Mainly because the Rock's character is such a flake. They made the movie much more of a who dunit than it should have been.

    Broken Flowers. Again.

I think Bill Murray's performance is one of his career bests. There are so many scenes featuring him without dialogue that make the effort he put forth special. The patented-Murray deadpan when a former girlfriend's daughter walks into the living room nude brings back memories of many of his films.

  8. Forrest Gump - just rewatched it and love it just as much as the first time!

The movie didn't seem to know what it wanted to be, so it was pretty disjointed, particularly in the early going. It actually got funnier as it went along and got more focused. There were some LOL moments, but it definitely had a lot of misses.

I like Dwayne Johnson and thought he was pretty funny in the role, and Kevin Hart (who I like) was Kevin Hart. It exceeded my very low expectations, but I wouldn't pay money to see it. I'd give it 2.5 stars (out of 5)

A friend worked as the on-set tutor and has been telling me about this for about a year.
