I wonder if this guy had huge gambling debts, no job prospects or a shoddy job history, and no success with women. Perhaps thought he had no hope of digging himself out of his hole and decided to take as many out with him as he could.

I don’t know how often big events are held in this space, but between the room choice, and the weapons he brought with him, it looks like this was planned out, and not spontaneous in any way.
