Are Democrats denouncing thoughts and prayers?

I get it. It’s just the @Dick Whitman was saying...

    Never mind. It doesn’t matter.

He's a white baseball player, so the odds are fairly high.

"Thoughts and prayers" just drives me a little crazy. It shouldn't. People are just trying to be nice, but it's along the lines of, "I'm sorry for your loss" at a funeral.

His brother did mention he liked to go gamble. But I'd think if it was gambling debt, he'd have been shooting on the casino floor.

It means nothing if those saying it aren't willing to do anything to address the source of the problem.

And, when the issue is mass shootings, we plainly are not.

Maybe. I'm equating it to these stories where the mousy church treasurer turns out to be an embezzler of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Then you find out there is a massive gambling debt. Or the average husband kills his family and then himself. I've read plenty of them where it comes out that there is a massive gambling debt and the person got to the end of the line thinking there was no way out.

Who knows what it will be with this guy, just something that seems possible.

    Thankfully she’s putting politics aside.
