Agreed. Although per a PM from a friend at a concert industry magazine, the feeling is he's gone.

 

Definitely A1. No question.

I'm crushed.

 

I saw Petty in Toronto in July and this is what they finished with. As I mentioned on the concert thread I wasn't crazy about the show and some of the songs he did at the expense of some classics, but I had seen him a bunch of times in the 80s and he was great. Incredible catalogue, great songwriter, a really unique voice who fit perfectly with other all-American rockers like Springsteen and Seger without trying to imitate either one.
