RIP Tom Petty

Tweeter and the Monkey Man is a great song. Last Night and End of the Line also great songs. Some songs on that album aren't that good.

 

When I was a sophomore in high school, the wilburys got s shitload of airtime, at least on the rock stations like WPLR in new haven, ct. whether their stuff was mainstream enough to chart higher, well, ce la vie.

 

I love this one. The audience takes the song away from him and runs.

 

I might have missed it, and apologies if I did, but Petty was cutting edge on MTV.

I think my personal favorite is this one:

 

So good..."Yer gonna put me out of a job..."

 

Learning To Fly & Into The Great Wide Open are as good a 1-2 punch as any artist ever threw.

 

Great, not as well known song on Damn the Torpedoes, Louisiana Rain.
