I'm ticked off that the new "Star Trek: Discovery" series isn't on regular CBS TV, and is just being streamed on CBS All Access instead. You'd think series producers would know there'd probably enough fan support of it to justify it being on regular TV, and that they'd go that route.

Of course, I'm sure they think the same exact thing looking at it the other way, and that, therefore, they're going to get enough people, and build on that base, for streaming purposes, too. But I don't think so, and it's just going to needlessly kill a (so far) quality show for which Trek fans would be hungry. What are they thinking?

Yeah, they put that and the Good Wife spinoff on streaming hoping enough of the established fan bases would sign up and make it viable.

I wonder what "viable" would be?

Seriously, it reminds me of newspapers, when they had writers doing blog items and videos, etc., seemingly, just because. Like, it's the new, upcoming thing, and we've got to jump on it, etc., whether we've got it figured out, or not, or whether or not we know it will actually be (or become) a marketable, profitable endeavor.

The new Star Trek and the Good Wife spinoff are on cable here in Canada and likely in other countries as well.

I've given every Star Trek series a shot until this one. No way I'm paying for that.

Speaking of sci-fi geek stuff, I caught the first episode of The Gifted tonight. They definitely played on some of the darker aspects of X-Men comics. One serious groan-worthy moment annoyed the heck out of me, but I'll give it another episode at least.

Thought the new Curb Your Enthusiasm was great.

Agreed. But holy crap has Richard Lewis aged since that show started. Larry doesn't look a whole lot older than he used to, but Lewis. Yikes.

The Rick and Morty finale featured the line said to the mythical pres of the U.S.: "Oh I've got pubes, commander in queef!" I laughed hard.

I've been through four episodes of The Orville, and I have to admit, I'm kind of digging it. However, I think its schizophrenic nature could hinder it with audiences. A lot of it is straight science fiction drama, but then McFarlane will put in stuff like the western outlaw who decides to do an '80s dance-off in the middle of a virtual reality game. I'll keep watching though.

I'm surprised I like it as much as I do. I'm not a sci fi guy, and the show is more drama than comedy, but I'm digging it.

The third episode and the whole gender plot was interesting.

Yep. Lewis, Danson and David are about the same age. Some people age badly. With Lewis, likely a combo of hard living and aging badly.

But damn, I had a lot of laughs. Admitted "Curb" lover.

Wow, Arizona grew her amputated leg back on Grey's.

    TV is truly amazing.

Re: Curb: I lost my shit when Richard Lewis said his "I don't live in a Cuban dancehall" line. :)
... Also, I wouldn't say Richard Lewis looks too much older than in the past. However, I had no idea he was so short. Appeared to be about 5-feet tall. They must have always shot him sitting down in past episodes...
