I'm sure you were thinking of Maryland and DC. I know I was.

OK, here is what I wrote in August 2015 after the TV reporter and her cameraman were slain on live TV.

    Would this work?

We killed 87 last year on our place. It wasn't enough.

When non-hunters tell hunters how they should cull animal populations, it reminds me of the conversations here about how police officers should start shooting individuals posing a life-threatening danger in the foot.

    "Guns don't kill people."

I've only heard that about 600 trillion times in the last decade.

Probably some autoregression in play there ... above-average sales in previous years will tend to be followed by below-average sales in subsequent years.

True. But the gun stores also lost a boogeywoman to use as a looming spectre scheming to take all the guns. If Clinton had won, gun sales would be booming right now.

But, whatever the reason, the gun industry is shrinking a bit. There have been layoffs. And it's contributed to the problems at B&M places like BPS and Academy as well.

Speaking of hunting and its "purchase" ... I've been puzzling over the fact that my Chiefs-Cowboys tickets have remained unsold when less-attractive games are long gone. Then it occurred to me ... Nov. 5 ... is it? ... Yep, white-tailed deer opening day 'round here.
