Analysis: When it comes to America's gun debate it's feelings over facts

 

Yawn. Have 'em spayed and neutered.

 

Previous referred to in the general sense, such as: "a semi-automatic rifle modified for full automatic fire."

Now that people are killing by the dozens, it's only natural to zero in on the specifics.

 

So cops are the good guys again? Wasn't it just last week that we were told they're all racist assholes who want to murder us with glee?

 

Couldn't that go the other way just as easily? Civilians must love and support the military at all costs - and you'd better not kneel - but should keep an arsenal of high-powered guns so they can kill them?

 

I have cop friends. I have been very open about that here. One of them came over last week to watch Notre Dame with me. Not sure why I am bound by what some hypothetical liberal bogeyman is purported to have said or thought.

 

I have zero issues with registration being required, despite the movie Red Dawn.

 

I know that's how it works, but that's backwards, and if more people wouldn't have found the details to be a buncha bullshit, maybe this is prevented.

As @Azrael pointed out, there were indeed pieces written about the specifics. I think people largely tune them out. Buncha bullshit.

I freely acknowledged in the offending post that I am as much to blame as anyone else.

 

Unfortunately, America has become a reactive society.

So now we're on to: "What? Bump stock? What the fuck is a bump stock?"

 

I do not know how anyone could cover sports and not meet lots of cops. They're guys on a job. Most I liked, some I didn't, but it had nothing to do with police abuses as an issue. That falls into the "power corrupts" bin.
