I said that is is established that there is an individual right to gun ownership. Your response was as follows:

I accurately pointed out that this is not true, per Supreme Court precedent.

    Your response was:

You are responding to an imaginary post.

All I'm saying is we haven't seen the last SCOTUS case regarding 2A interpretation, and precedent only carries so far when you're dealing with weapons and carnage unimaginable at the time of its inception. (Not to mention the archaic phrasing of the 2A itself.)

The second one was in response to someone else's post, actually.

I will bet you a trillion billion dollars Heller is not getting overturned. So you can rant and rave and fantasize among other liberals who will give you back slaps and high fives.

Or you can be part of the solution.

Sorry, you're correct, it was yours. I was responding to your suggestion that I accept a Supreme Court decision as iron-clad. (At least that's how I interpreted it.)

You may be correct about Heller never being overturned. However, for those of us who consider this a crisis, all avenues should be explored, including challenging those previous interpretations.

I agree with you that Democrats must be more proactive in crafting and fighting for legislation that deals with the issue. It would help, obviously, if they could win more elections in the first place.

Quant, why do you think states were formed? People put up with being conquered because maybe they could sleep at night. I'm talking Assyria, Babylon and Egypt here. Go back as far as you want. People will put up with almost anything for physical safety (comfort second, Hitler's firm belief, which helped lose him the war, was that demanding economic sacrifices from the German middle class would lead to political catastrophe.).

Interesting interview on NPR today with Paul Glasco of "Legally Armed America" re bump stocks. Good info and little dogma on either side.
