Wouldn’t criminals react favorably to a society that confiscated guns from law abiding citizens?

Isn't that the British problem? More break-ins?

My point is that if cops really organized as a vocal bloc in favor of certain regulations, in service of police safety, I think you'd see a lot of conservatives re-calibrate their hard-line positions.

In major metros, LEOs might prefer a ban on firearms. Here in flyover country? They're hunting and plinking off-duty like the rest of us.

Who said anything about a ban?

So the 58 deaths in Vegas were de minimus, the exception to the rule, statistically insignificant, and bad facts with which to make new law?

They, along with the children of Sandy Hook, the theater goers in Aurora Colorado and the party goers in Orlando are just collateral and incidental costs to the the rights of others.

As far as the 58 or 60 deaths and 600 injured and the 10’s of thousands of their family and friends, sorry, but seriously, this is America. Get out of the USA if you don’t want to risk mass gun murders aand injuries. You knew what you were getting when you chose to live here.
