Ahem. One, that's the visitor's side. Two, there is a hurricane coming ashore between Birmingham and Louisiana. I can't exactly blame them for not traveling very well. Three, when you're stuck putting C-USA sized crowds inside a 70,000 seat tomb, it tends to look that way.

We're leading C-USA in attendance at 32k a game, but that is skewed by the 45k crowd for #TheReturn. Still, we're leading by 22k over La. Tech in second place.

    /rude gesture and a grin.

Well, given that there was no one at NC's house...

Y'all can poke at it all you want, you can't affect my mood this evening.

Oh, one other thing and I'll shut the hell up.

Two years ago, when the loss of our football program was still a raw, bleeding wound, the C-USA conference basketball tournament was held in Birmingham. Louisiana Tech's band started a chant of "We have football, clap clap, clap clap clap".

We have football too, and karma is a stone bitch.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming - guns, tragedy, mental illness.

I can't believe it hasn't even been a week. Our national psyche has become way to efficient in processing these things. Shooting, shock, grief, call for gun control, "now is not the time," thoughts and prayers, who is the shooter?, who were the heroes?, who were the victims?, GoFundMe, why nothing will change, internet memes, find someone to focus hatred on (ethnic group, celebrity who tweets something stupid, someone profiting off of tragedy), coining of community slogan "VegasStrong" or whatever to put on t-shirts, celebrity plans fundraiser....all in six days.

And then sadly, wait, rinse and repeat.

It has become the established cycle... and sadly, no matter how bad it gets, nothing changes.

"If Sandy Hook didn't do it..." has become a cliche rooted in truth.

I was prepared to concede the point, as I didn't have any evidence to back up the claim... until now:
