OK. That has dick all to do with my case.

 

I think he killed three people - his wife and his mother- and father-in-law, all in front of the kids, if memory serves.

Always sent me a Christmas card.

 

That makes it more confusing.

The slim picture that has been painted is that he was anti-social, and uncomfortable around people.

I've seen this expanded to say that he suffered from an undiagnosed mental illness.

But, this flies in the face of that, and extends the time line of his sanity until 2012.

I think that what will be controversial and upsetting to many is that that the "undiagnosed mental illness" folks are pointing to is autism. Absent other factors, I don't think autism has been shown to exhibit itself in violence, and there will be a lot of pushback -- understandably I would say -- if people try to lay the blame for his crime on something like autism.

 

If I was in the headlines today, I think that you'd get some people saying I was reserved and socially awkward and others saying I was the life of the party.

It's situational.

 

But no one would say you were a dick?

 

In high school.

 

I think the modal response from Podunk High alums as re: me would be "Who?"

 

JFC. What did the card usually say?

 

"Merry Christmas."

 

Better than "You're Next" I suppose.

 

Better than Happy Valentine's Day too.
