Why did he break two windows?

He seems to have set up to shoot from this one window. He put the guns in the two chairs he had pushed together. He strung up a blanket in the one window to shoot behind, and reloaded behind a concrete pillar.

Did he ever shoot from the second window, which was fairly far away? What was the point of that?

 

Latest news: Shooter was allowed access to the service elevators!

 

How the hell does this guy know if the chairs were for loaded or empty firearms?

 

Steve Wynn was interviewed on -- wait for it -- FOX news last night,

He said a couple of interesting things. One was that if guest had a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the room for greater than 12 hours, they would receive a "wellness" check from staff, to make sure they were ok.

Then he said, that no person in any of his hotels ever accessed a service elevator without hotel security accompanying him. It was a weird thing to say. The host asked him if the shooter had accessed a service elevator, and Wynn said, he didn't know, he was just making a point.

But, he obviously knew.

So, when/how did he access a service elevator, and why?

 

I guess he doesn't but only one -- or maybe there are two, it's hard to see -- gun is left. I'd guess he was tossing spent guns, and grabbing loaded guns from the two chairs, which he had set up right behind where he was firing from.

That seems to make the most sense.

A gun is spent, or jams, grab another one.

 

We have had our Do Not Disturb sign on for five days at a time, and never a wellness check.

 

I have to say too, I ride up in hotel, and other, service elevators all the time.

The downtown office building require a key card to access floors. Without one, you can't push a button.

But, if I'm going to a machine in a club lounge in a hotel, it's right through the loading dock, into the elevator, and up we go.

Now, I don't like to dick around. The less time I spend, the more money I make. And, I'm pretty good at looking like I belong and know where I'm going.

I have to wonder though, if Vegas casino hotels, with far greater security, are much more formal about this kind of stuff, and if they are, how did he access a service elevator.

I've accidentally left one up for longer than I meant to, and then cursed myself when I returned to an unmade room.

But, Wynn was pretty clear, and it was in response to an overall security review they had conducted. If you left he "do not disturb" sign up, he said they would check on you -- for your own safety.

He was trying very hard not to throw his competitors/colleagues under the bus, while also making clear that his properties would have handled this guy differently.

I guess it doesn't really matter.

The service elevator comment did stick with me though. He must have known something that was not public to have made that point.

Sure. I'm ok with that, and so is he.

Dismiss it if you like. It makes sense to me though.

And, with the lack of official info, it's not surprising folks are looking elsewhere.

All the caveats apply, obviously, And, if you read the guys whole timeline, you'll see he's bit of a kook, who admittedly suffers from mental illness.

Bur, I haven't seen others really dig into the crime scene photos like he has, and come to plausible scenarios the way he has.
