FYI, you can believe a number is grossly flawed while still believing that, with little else to go by, it's better for the number to go in a positive direction than a negative one.

Let's take RBI, a flawed statistic by most people's measure. Let's say Player A had 86 RBI last year. He has 121 RBI this year. While the stat is still flawed --- and you can debate exactly how productive Player A was this season --- it's HIGHLY LIKELY that Player A had a better season this year than last.

If the participation rate is at an historic low ... it’s still possible for it to increase. Indeed, it could increase to what was an historic low just last week!

Of all government statistics, unemployment is the most confusing, not because of inaccuracy in any of the methods. but because they use about five different methods in the same monthly report.

See, Trump was correct again. Bush didn't call her, he was with her. Fake news, yada yada yada.

So, Bush is a good guy now, who dealt with the families of fallen service members in a compassionate manner?

    When did that narrative flip?

I don't think the narrative against Bush was ever that he wasn't compassionate. It was mostly that he was dumb and in the pocket of Big Oil.

I know why this confuses you. It shows people looking beyond party loyalty to acknowledge that both a Republican and a Democrat did this better than Trump, something you can't do.

So, why did the media make a star out of Cindy Sheehan, if Bush -- who had previously met with her -- was a guy who routinely met the families of fallen soldiers, as well as a guy who wrote and called family members?

Because she was an activist against an unpopular war of aggression started for suspect reasons. What does that have to do with whether Bush was compassionate or not?
