The Blacklist would be better if the FBI agents weren't so inept. It bugs me at this point they even bother to express their dismay at something Reddington does.

I think you might raise that number after an episode of The Orville.

Anyone else watching Mindhunter on Netflix? It's a bit of a slow burn but I'm drawn to it. I'm 3 episodes in. It's pretty good.

My girlfriend is also an early adopter of it, so I'll catch an episode from time to time. A few chuckles here and there; not great, but I don't think it's like in the bottom 10 of shows on the air. I think it probably gets more ire from the Internet than other shows because of its subject matter.

  7. Just discovered Ballers on HBO. Football version of Entourage. I love it!

I've been watching "The Good Doctor," a new series about a hospital surgical resident who is an autistic savant.

It's been good. It's hard to imagine it happening. But it is nonetheless compelling, and I think it achieves its unspoken goal of hopeful and positive inclusiveness by giving a voice and a forum to those with disabilities.

It kind of reminds me of the old series "Life Goes On," although the actor who plays the autistic doctor (Freddie Highmore) is not actually autistic, while LGO star Chris Burke actually had Down Syndrome. It makes Highmore's performance all the more amazing, though.

Really liking The Good Place again this year. I don't know how long they can hold on to the premise, but it's a smart and funny show.

I also knocked through Narcos season 3 on flights to and from the West Coast this weekend. Some of the casting was iffy, but the show was an improvement from season 2

  11. Really? I think Season 3 was a big stretch. I watched it, but with nowhere near the interest I had for seasons 1 and 2.

I thought that that the actor who played Murphy was awful and that the parts of season 2 where Escobar wasn't on the screen weren't good. Maybe it's because Wagner Moura was such a presence.

I thought that season 3 had a better through line with the plot. Perhaps the actors who played Gilberto and David weren't up to snuff, but the rest of the cast was really good.
