This from a man who was elected Chief Justice of a State Supreme Court. Twice.

Alabama voters are morons, mostly.

Yes, she most certainly was.

She was using her status as a Gold Star mom not just to protest the war, but to demand a meeting with Bush, who had already met with her.

And, the media played up this angle. They demanded to know why Bush wouldn’t meet with her, and portrayed him as callous when he wouldn’t meet with her.

Curiously too, her status as Gold Star mom/protestor suddenly didn’t mean much when she started criticizing Democrats, and she was cast into oblivion.
