You don't think you earned that dig from Guy with your rant about your legal credentials this week? You did.

Am I crazy or... is Guy also a lawyer?

That might be right, now that you bring it up.

I don't care about language because I'm a lawyer. I'm a lawyer (and a journalist before that) because I care about language.

I understand, but I don't think Guy was taking a shot at the profession.

I'm a liberal. I don't care whether I'm right on the facts here. The larger point is what's important.

People have to be careful because at some point I fight back. I’m being very nice. I’m being very, very nice. But at some point I fight back, and it won’t be pretty.

A couple years back, when the controversy du jour was that college campuses were festering rape dens, I recall Slate or one of those sites shouting down someone for suggesting ways in which women can try to mitigate the risks - uncontroversial recommendations like not walking alone late at night in isolated places, not getting too drunk with people you don't know and trust. Pretty basic stuff. I think Obama also said something absurd like a woman is just as likely to be raped minding her business in her dorm room as at a fraternity party.

That said, as far as these comments go, yuck.

    The lede's worse:

Actress Laura Dern was sexually assaulted and harassed — but had justified it for years until recently coming forward.
