    This is a reasonable assumption.

It’s childish wording and drips with resentment. You make it sound like playing a professional sport is some privilege (lucky them!) bestowed on athletes whereby they become obliged to pretend to be interested in some stupid question.

You'd fly thru Azrael's course in Leapology in Linguistics 101.

    I still don't know Cam's opinion of truck-sticking.

Nor do I totally know what truck-sticking is.

I don't remotely buy into the "pampered," "spoiled," "entitled," etc. bit ... BUT ... it doesn't strike me as all that crass to note how fortunate these guys are. They're supremely gifted athletes, to start with. And they're supremely fortunate to live in a time/place in which such gifts can command such rewards.

Yes, they've poured the hearts and souls into developing their craft. I greatly admire them for it. But there ain't no law that says what they do has to be all that valuable. Coal miners and loggers do hard and dangerous work, too.

Now THAT was a stupid question, just because of the inclusion of "truck-sticking."

Right. But coal miners and loggers probably wouldn’t suffer foolish questions gladly, either. Their skills are coal mining and logging.

A lot of people just aren’t comfortable in that kind of setting or extemporaneously gifted.

And while we all may agree they’re fortunate, including the athletes themselves, it still doesn’t obligate them to pretend to do the “dance” Doubledown described. They owe 100 pct. effort at their jobs.
