The latter would be my guess, but it's just a guess. Money laundering is a commission business, and money gets laundered because it came from crimes.

-- White House lawyer Ty Cobb told the New York Times’s Matt Apuzzo that Trump doesn’t believe Paul Manafort or Michael Flynn have damaging information to offer on the president to Mueller. “The president has no concerns in terms of any impact, as to what happens to them, on his campaign or on the White House,” Cobb said.

    I guess we'll see, huh?

The charges appear serious, but they don't touch on Trump, or his campaign.

    They all pre-date the campaign.

And, look, if he did what he's charged with, he surely should face penalties, but I think it's also clear that these charges would have never been brought if he wasn't affiliated with the Trump campaign, which does look a lot like criminalizing politics.

Is it telling that neither Trump nor Sanders has claimed "nothingburger" yet because Trump is not mentioned in the indictment?

Anonymous WH person calls Manafort and Gates "bad guys."

I'm crying for Paul Manafort and Rick Gates?

Nope. You won't even get a buzz from me on these two.

Wait, so you're admitting a Federal Government, of which all three branches are completely controlled by the Republicans, is "criminalizing politics?"

Is this self-criticism a breakthrough for you, @YankeeFan?

One can only assume Paul Manafort, who by no means was a widely regarded politico, was suddenly given the reigns of the nascent Trump campaign at the request of their Russian puppet-master, no?

Based on both the "no knock" raid, and today's indictment, it's pretty clear that Manafort hasn't "flipped" as many had suspected he had.

Maybe he really doesn't have anything to offer.
