Ooh ooh that smell...

    ...can't you TIME that smell?

On time change day (fall back most of you), here's a study on the circadian rhythm of your sense of smell.

Smell sensitivity varies with circadian rhythm, study suggests

Heard that on WTOP and as I was driving down the road, my mind began to wander in typical VB fashion, and yep, the story got to it:

    By Brown University, BTW.

Really? Jesus. Typical VB fashion is something you might ought to keep to yourself now and then. We KNOW where your mind goes, we read about it all the damn time.

I'm more interested in the science here Moddy.

The rest is an act. Some here like the schtick, I get that you don't. I actually have toned it down and don't post as often. If I draw a laugh from a few each day, that's great. Laughter is the best medicine. My point here is to lighten the place up instead of getting embroiled in personal arguments all the time.

I've seen a lot of board history here using far worse words over the years. I've become a lightning rod over the past year, and I don't like that any more than you do.

Really glad to see a lot of former posters returning lately. Hope that trend continues. I've offered to disappear if that would help and you know that.

Back on topic - I find it fascinating that smell varies by time of day. I wouldn't have even thought to research that. Designing an experiment to accurately capture that effect is intriguing.

I have no desire for you to disappear, at all. I have a desire for you to stop posting with your little head and use your big head more often. The science may well be interesting, yet you bold the mating part.

Ok. I'll keep trying to improve Moddy. Promise you.

What you may not realize is that I have stopped being graphic and explicit for the most part, and dialed back to being more suggestive and hinting and letting others take their imagination wherever they so choose. Fill in the blank, etc.

Everyone, I'll be more careful. I am very respectful of this community and meant no harm. I'll focus on laughs through wordplay, wry, twists, clean stuff and Random Images and leave out the "Little Johnny" obscene schtick (you know, the kid in the back of the room that the teacher could never call on out of fear of what he'd say.). That's where I learned this - my uncles taught me too many LJ jokes when I was a kid.

Plus, I am trying to make a lot more serious comments on issues, sports, etc. than I did the first few years I was on here. JC called me out on that years ago, and I've gradually ramped up serious postings, but I still have ZERO desire to get into pissing matches with anyone. Rarely is an opinion changed on a message board. Personal damage can occur. I want to learn from our varied discussions and insights, and laugh a bit along the way. That's the new VB Manifesto.

[And no, I don't own a shack in Montana.

    It's in Virginia.]

Back to the science - if smell is circadian in humans, what about other animals? Is Jane Goodall still researching? And tigers. What's a good time and a bad time to be around tigers? (Without getting out of the boat.)

Have a great day everyone. Peace Moddy. Advice duly noted.

    Regards,
    VB

I've generally learned not to disagree with you. But I think you're waaaaay too sensitive on this one. Maybe go take a good run. Pet your dog.

So, shottie, you vote for me to disappear?

I apologize for making fun of your waitresses for five years.

I was going to say, this is like a 1 out of 10 on the Vombatus Has Issues Scale.

You are and remain one of my favorite irritants. And you're probably less than a year away from being allowed back in the State College Blue-Plate Diner. ;)
