I lived in Virginia for 18 months for my first newspaper gig out of college. That was 15 years ago. Those people loved their guns then. Of course that was before we had (or at least heard about) mass shootings every day (actually the shooting in Texas was the 307th mass shooting we had in 2017).

It also depends on what part of Virginia you are talking about. The DC suburbs in Northern Virginia are quite different from Richmond, which is also quite different from the more rural areas.

Analysis | Have your representatives in Congress received donations from the NRA?

This is just campaign contributions. Between contributions and money spent going after Hillary Clinton, the NRA spent $30 million in support of Trumpy.

This was southern Virginia, in the middle of the state and an hour from NC. Out in the sticks basically. Red territory on the voting map you saw if you saw any of the breakdown for Northam and Gillespie.

How does freedom feel, Jeff Flake? Anyone else think he would have dared to post this before deciding not to run again?

The NRA contributes, but not enough to buy them. It is much more cash effective for the NRA to tell them "If you fail to support our agenda, we'll fund a primary run from your right with more money than you've ever seen." The stick is cheaper, especially if the threat is sufficient and you don't have to use it.

She should be rolling into work soon to begin her 15-hour day.

I've noticed that people from northern Virginia are always sure to include the "northern" part when you ask them where they are from.
