I don't know what it has to do with my definition of anything.

I'd like to know, at the least, whether the women themselves believed they granted consent. I'd like to know what they said. We, the readers, are left in the dark on this. And this is the nation's paper of record expressly accusing an uncharged public figure with 15-20-year-old sexual misconduct.

    Absolutely. Of course.

    The reporter didn't ask.

    This boggles my mind.

The only readers in the dark are those who choose to be.

No more sex/relationships unless both parties are of equal stature in all aspects of life.

    Problem solved.

The standard you're setting there has never been journalism's standard, nor should it ever be.

“Can you see how he would have reasonably believed you had granted him consent?”

If the answer is anything other than an unequivocal “no,” you cannot run the story.

As someone who associates mostly with writers, trust me: I was horrified by the prospect that I was facing down a lifetime of neovirginity.

The leaders of superpowers could only date the leaders of other superpowers. That's how Trump and Putin got together, I'm assuming. [/crossthread]
