I was under the impression that the Talking Heads shows were all much cheaper to produce and staff, vs. paying for rights and investigative pieces. So if anything, I'd think that they would lean even more into that sort of shit.

Actually, I'm glad I misspelled it. Shows what little value/importance she is to me.

Not the answer I wanted to read. But, yeah, it does make sense. I guess I'll keep not watching ESPN.

Not to mention production costs. Exactly how many people is ESPN paying to produce a Mississippi State-Vanderbilt game?

Remember how great ESPN was in the beginning, how simple, how pure and how non political it was? The simple sets, the simple fonts, the basic no frills sportscasters like Tom Mees, George Grande, Bob Ley, etc. If ESPN can somehow find a way to back to its roots and recreate that original energy and ambiance, it could survive. But now...ESPN, other than the tennis and soccer broadcasts (high quality) and 30-30, is unwatchable.

To me, the worse thing they did was dump ESPN News. I enjoyed a swift, no-frills highlight and information show. I can't sit through 10 minutes of Sports Center as a former player talks about Lebron waiting for a Clippers-Knicks highlight.

If Cleveland State ever gets off probation, it may bankrupt the network.

But if you want that "no frills" sort of stuff now, all you have to do is open your phone. There are plenty of outlets to give you what you want in an instant, and you don't have to wait the 1 to 59 minutes for the 6 p.m. Sportscenter to cycle around to your team.

Hill will absolutely survive this round. Any round.
