I love this scene so much.

I believe the NY Times story talked about several instances of Louis calling women and apologizing well before any of this came to light. And I have no trouble believing Louis wrote that apology himself.

I love his stand-up, but quit his show after like three episodes. I don't mind uncomfortable art, but, man, it was really, really uneasy viewing.

Well, that statement's plainly true in principle, but the thorny question where we set the bar on "power over another person" such that the expression of consent is deemed irrelevant, especially when there's no actual employment relationship involved.

C.K.'s letter seems to make the concession on the ambiguous grounds that "they admired me." Well, jeez, who knows where the extension of that amorphous standard could lead. So people may now only request consent from those who look down on us?

Right. He's a stand-up comedian and writer, by trade. He's incapable of writing an apology letter? This isn't Dexter Manley here.

Is this enough to keep Louis C K out of the Comedy Hall of Fame?

It wasn't intended to me. He was the one guy I could think of who admitted to being illiterate.
