He would have been OK if he'd been given four humanities credits for completing a religious studies class.

After a career full of second chances, Rick Pitino should get one more, Dick Vitale says After a career full of second chances, Rick Pitino should get one more, Dick Vitale says

Are college basketball coaches, in the end, just stupid? I really mean it, are they just not smart at all? Or are basketball coaches so over indulged, over praised, over paid that they are just so self involved that they believe they are important? Even Krzyzeweski isn’t really intellectually brightest, just treated that way.

And Auriemma , you are just a women’s basketball coach, that’s like being the best darn 4th grade math teacher at elementary school for MIT’s professors’ kids.

Actually, I think Geno is smart. He found a way to reach his profession's highest point the other guys didn't think of.

Being a good basketball coach isn’t the same as being smart. There’s a mechanic at a small garage in Sykesville. He’s a great mechanic, identifies problems well, fixes the problems to completion and is fair about cost. But talking to him about anything besides cars is like talking about Imperial Roman History with a puppy. He’s not smart, he’s got a specific and narrow skill set.

It takes smarts to acquire a specific and narrow skill set.

It’s like he didn’t watch the past two Blue-White scrimmages.
