The Roy Moore vibe on my Vol deplorables board is not as bad as I feared. From one Alabama resident who likely will stay home on election night:

1. i am leaning toward believing he is guilty of these accusations. Just way too much smoke and way too many people at this point. His denial about not knowing people and even saying he doesn’t even know the restaurant is clearly bullshit and in small towns .. not believable. Locals don’t seem too shocked in many regards .. and these aren’t all your typical dim hacks. I think he has a thing for younger girls and i also think this is seen differently now than it probably was 35 years ago as a general rule ... especially in rural bumblefuck Alabama. His wife herself is FOURTEEN years younger than him which would put many of these accusers in his wheelhouse if he did this shit in his 20’s and 30’s. AGAIN ... that doesn’t make it right AT ALL ... but time perspective is important. Marrying younger women (even underage ones at the time) isn’t something that was unheard of during that time ... and anyone being honest from small towns like this knows it went on. Not my thing so i can’t relate.

2. If the accusers are truly lying ... why not go “all in”? The accusations are bad ... but they aren’t as bad as they could have been. If i’m going to lie ... I’m going to LIE and make it really outlandish and something that would just completely blow his ass up. That isn’t what we have here ... they don’t go all the way to the side of assault even in most cases ... they just paint him as a total creep who likes younger girls. Bad ... but not BAD as in sexual assaulting child rapist. This in a strange way makes their stories more credible. Again .. i tend to believe these women.

3. Given the above ... the timing of ALL of this is complete and total bullshit and is a planned effort to try to get Doug Jones elected and get the dims a senate seat they otherwise would have had ZERO chance of getting ... ZERO. This comes out AFTER it’s too late to remove him from the ballot, AFTER the primary election where it could have very well meant Luther Strange as Senate candidate AND likely elected Senator. Roy Moore isn’t new to the scene and there has been plenty of opportunity to bring this out .. though likely the climate we are in with hollywood brought it to the forefront and made the timing PERFECT for these equally sick fucks orchestrating this shit.

It’s bullshit ... the timing disenfranchised roughly 60-70% of Alabama voters who are left with no good choice ... and that is WRONG.

So what does this particular Bammer voter do?
I can’t in good conscious vote for Roy Moore
I can’t in good conscious vote for Doug Jones and support his agenda which is damaging to this country and this state ... WON’T happen.
I also can’t support this new political strategy where the dims (and going forward likely pubs) will trot out these accusations last minute in a coordinated and CLEAR attempt to STEAL an election .. because that what this is ... and every honest dim would admit to it (if there are any honest dims).

What we are seeing in Bama .. if it works .. will be commonplace going forward ... and that isn’t a good thing to support no matter the candidate.

Still don’t know what i’m going to do .... as as a Bama voter I am totally F’d.

How can you appoint a Federal Court judge who has never tried a case? How can you appoint multiple Cabinet level heads of science related agencies who have zero scientific education?

I've lost track of how many Congressmen on both sides I've heard speaking or questioning witnesses who obviously have no clue about what they're talking about. It's depressing as hell, I agree.

I'm tired of both sides acting like real life is an episode of "The West Wing" and people they don't agree with shouldn't try to win elections and instead make inspirational speeches backed by flowery music while accepting defeat. If your opponent was hooking up with 14 year old girls, you sure as hell release that at a time designed for maximum pain. (Although, I wish this had come out a couple weeks later so the GOP didn't have time to circle the wagons.)
