When a question addresses my argument, I answer it.

When it addresses a hypothetical argument that I didn’t make, I give it all the regard it is due.

I'm not sure this argument holds up in a court of law. Just sayin'.

No. You don’t get it. The laws are largely written by men, policed by men and prosecuted by men before jurists who are men. I’m saying that in a society in which there was gender equality the laws would be different, the way they are investigated would be different, the way they are prosecuted would be different, the juriprudence would be different and the outcomes would be different.

    I get it just fine.

In what ways would they be different that would result in a higher conviction rate for sex crimes?

The hypothetical does address your argument, or at least the logical conclusion that follows your argument.

I’ll be the judge of that

I believe it's both very hard for women to come forward and make an accusation of rape/sexual assault, for all the reasons we've discussed, and it's also hard for prosecutors to gain a conviction, even when a woman has a credible claim.

But, I'm not sure how we could rite better laws, or investigate or prosecute differently, which wouldn't rob the accused of his (or sometimes her) rights.

Do you have a suggestion or example of what we could or should do differently?

And that is when I will point out how convenient it is for you to find an excuse to run away from any argument that challenges yours.

And I point out that the idea that every idea presented needs to be argued comes from a sad, weird place, and that their judgment on what hypotheticals logically follow is not intellectually honest and merely a play in the playbook used to try to “win” a contest that serves no purpose.
