Let's review the history of Joe Biden, presidential candidate. He ran twice, in 1988 and 2008. Neither time did he advance past the New Hampshire primary. Neither time did his behavior towards women become any kind of issue. There is zero evidence that Democratic voters yearn for him as their candidate, except he's included in those "somebody vs. Trump in 2020" polls. It is my guess that in the public mind, Biden is a stand-in for "generic Democrat" in those ludicrously theoretical questions. He's not running. If his ego gets the better of common sense and he does run, he will again fail to advance past the New Hampshire primary.

Not by themselves. With court order, yes. But such an order apparently doesn't exist.

Bottom line: Absense of paperwork on this one issue is not exculpatory on the larger point.

I know EXACTLY how small towns in the South work. And I know that a lot of times, what “everybody knows” is light-years removed from the truth.

Your disconnection from reality is really disturbing. It's really hard to fathom that political groupthink is a strong enough influence to cause this sort of willful blindness. If you were really curious about the answer to your question, all you had to do was spend 2 seconds on Google and you would've been informed. But you aren't really curious about the answer to your question, are you? You've already decided what the answer is, and nothing will convince you otherwise.

Now, faced with incontrovertible proof that some reporter has, at some point, tried to get one of Joe's "victims" to talk, you will simply proceed as if you'd actually said something else. Whatever. We're so fucked.

Lol. You way underestimate the authority local cop had to stop known perverts in rural Alabama during the '70s.

The cops can’t charge him with shit unless the mall tells them he’s no longer welcome there.

Oh, I don’t know. I think you underestimate how much discretion police can exercise in such matters ...

Joe Biden may be a creep, therefore creepy behavior must be OK.
If creepy behavior is OK, then it's cool to vote for Roy Moore.
If it's cool to vote for Roy Moore, Trump's alleged improprieties can be ignored for they pale in comparison.
If Trump's alleged improprieties can be ignored, we can all agree that he's qualified, ethical and doing a great job.

Wow. That response is more disturbing than what Biden has done.

But, I guess it’s no different than how the parents of Michael Jackson’s victims justified Michael’s “closeness” with their children.

Chris must have really wanted to be a Senator.

Yeah. I’m sure the local DA would have been scared shitless by the rookie cop assigned to the mall.

In small towns, and not so small towns, police are more likely to keep an eye on a fellow member of law enforcement engaged in untoward behavior so they could step in and prevent things from getting to headline status than they would be to treat the person as an ordinary citizen. Here in Massachusetts just this month, the head and second in command of the state police "retired" suddenly as a result of a case where a statie stopped the daughter of a judge for a DUI, found she was also holding opiods, and heard her say they shouldn't mess with her because she was a judge's kid. That last point was erased from the cop's report by higher-ups. Not erased well enough though. The cop called out the department for it.

I think there’s not a politician of his generation in Washington who hasn’t acted like a pig or an outright predator at some point. The combination of their generation’s inherent misogyny, inability to change and unrelenting narcissism has made it much more endemic than we realize, even now.

Some (Clinton, etc.) hide their tracks with charm, some (Conyers et al) hide it with money, and some (Trump, Moore) just rely on dumbshits who can be spun up into accepting any bullshit you feed them.

For many reasons, this generation needs to let go and move out of the way. And if they won’t, they must be made to.
