No investigations! No trials! Off with their heads!

(As long as they are Democrats. Republicans should be believed if they deny the accusations regardless of the circumstances.)

Were you railing against Weinstein or Moore six months ago? If you had a problem with either of them, you weren't expressing it. Hell, you would still vote for Moore now if you lived in Alabama.

I'll also say this: a significant percentage of old people are fucking creepy. It's always been that way. I remember feeling that way as a child, because they used to do shit like Biden does in those videos. They would put their hands on you when talking to you and say weird and often inappropriate shit and lean in way too close. I never felt like they were violating me. I felt like they were fucking old, and weird. Biden might always have been a creep. He might have skeletons. If he touched those kids in a 1-on-1 setting the way he did in front of those TV cameras with their parents around, it would be inexcusable. If he touched an adult the way he did those kids, it would be inexcusable. Maybe he has. But you can't allow YF to frame the conversation as if Roy Moore luring a teen back to his apartment and taking off her clothes is the same thing as Biden grabbing a pre-pubescent girl by the upper arm and whispering in her ear with full knowledge that her family is watching and there are television cameras rolling.

It’s a weird thing. When a republican is accused of wrongdoing, we place the blame —rightly —at his feet. Maybe we also blame Republicans in general, or the Catholic Church, or southern culture, or some other right wing institution, but it’s mostly an issue of personal behavior.

But, when a Democrat is accused, we always take a step back, and point out the societal issues at play. It’s a generational thing. It’s the inherent misogyny in our culture.

It’s an opportunity for the accused to learn. The broader conversation is what we should be having, instead of focusing on the specifics.

    Why is that?

Given your history of lashing out people who question your knowledge regarding journalism because of your career choice, yes, I do think that little nickname bothers you.

Your first excuse in this comment is comical. You engage in partisan attacks all the time. You are called out for them constantly, most often for good reason. No way in hell that would have stopped you, yet you want to use it as an excuse now. It certainly shouldn't be an excuse for anybody else. If the accusation you are making has real merit, only a coward would have refused to address it.

The accusations aren't always the same. In fact, in the case you keep pushing, they don't even exist.

Gotta love the board's leading hypocrite trying to turn that around on others.

    Case in point.

It’s not about Joe. The olds are just creepy. Why should we focus on Joe, when we all know that?

Because Roy Moore and Donald Trump and all of their supporters have shown they’re incapable of having an honest, rational conversation about it.

Chuckling as I ponder how that approach differs from relying “on dumbshits who can be spun up into accepting any bullshit you feed them.”
