No. People who voted for Donald Fucking Trump objectively and unequivocally made the wrong choice.

 

What if their personal situation (finances, etc.) improved as a result and that is all that matters to them?

 

I fucked up my very first one, voting for Ford over Carter.

 

But a lot of those dumb, white, racists voted against their own economic interests. Or so I’ve been told.

 

Man, the number of people who could, and would, say this would fit into a small room.

 

I tell you, the rules in that game are sure hard to understand!

 

Honestly, the number of people who voted Ford in 1976 and then Ford in 1980 has to be extremely low.

 

Ford always struck me as a good, decent human being and very capable if not brilliant. I was 18 and wasn’t paying very much attention, honestly. I think all things considered Carter handled his four years extraordinarily well. He ran into a buzz-saw with the economy — sky-high unemployment and inflation, energy crisis and interest rates that ratcheted up to 20 percent. The steps he took (along with Volker) ultimately worked, but he took the hit for it.

 

Not just the racists. Did you know 17 coal plants have announced they’re shutting down since Trump took office?

 

I’ve said it before, but it hasn’t changed. If you voted for Trump, you’re either a dumbshit, an asshole, or a troll.
