Wow. Where did that come from? I don't think I know who Type is in real life but unless he is Kareem Abdul Jabber I can't imagine wanting his autograph (no offense Type but I have never asked for one in my life and I doubt I will start at 55 with the possible exception being Kareem).

Well, sure, but I didn't -- and wouldn't -- use it as a slur.

I also wouldn't use the word "retard" as a slur, but I'm not sure that I would sub in "the R-word" in its place if I were to use it in a discussion.

I'm also confused as when and where it we need to self censor the word.

Now, I'm not sure if this is true, but to my knowledge the first black person that was officially invited to the White House was Frederick Douglass. They stopped him at the gates. Abraham Lincoln had to walk out himself and escort Frederick Douglass into the White House, and it didn't happen again, as far as I know, until Roosevelt was president. Roosevelt was president, he had a black guy over and got so much flack from the media that he literally said, "I will never have a nigger in this house again.'
