Do I think Tiger will ever get back to where he was? No way in the world.
Do I think Tiger will ever contend at another major? Yes. But like Double Down said, he has to accept 290 instead of 330. He has to accept hitting 7 iron into greens where Koepka, DJ and McIlroy are flipping wedges. If he doesn't accept that, and continues to try and keep up with the Bomb Squad, then he will fade off into Bolivian, maybe play a US Senior Open here and there, or better yet, have them redo The Skins Game (which the fact that it's not on anymore is a travesty, but that's for a different time.)
It's really all up to him right now.

I miss the Q school drama; what Feinstein wrote was tremendous drama

I don't get why the Q school isn't a more prominent sporting event. Of all the crap served to us, the Q school would be great drama.

Sadly, Q-school doesn't even really exist anymore.

You earn your way onto the Tour through the Web.com playoffs. There are some aspects that were retained, but it bears little resemblance to what Feinstein wrote about.

  5. TW makes through Augutsa (limping) and shuts it down for the year before U.S. Open.

This entire year should be about:
    1. Can he play 4 rounds pain free?
    2. Can he practice four days leading into Thursday?
    3. Can he play every two weeks without pain meds or "spasms?"

That's it. Scores should be mostly irrelevant for the whole year. Pain management is all the matters.

But instead we'll have people asking and obsessing if he can win a major. Which he hasn't done in 10 years.

I agree with Double Down. If the pain is manageable, then by the end of his season his scores should improve. Whether they improve enough to be competitive is another story. You know, Lee Trevino got hit by lightning. When he first came back, people didn't obsess about his score. They wanted to see if he could play at all. Woods deserves the same standard.

Okay, use your wildest imagination and make believe he stays healthy all year.

What do we do about the chipping yips?
The drives that can't stay on the fairway?

Well, he can only even try to fix them if he's healthy to practice and play. He either will or he won't. But health is the prime issue.

The Q-School drama now is on the Champions Tour, whose school starts today and only the top five guys get full status (IIRC). To call that Tour a closed shop is an understatement, and if you don't get in through Q-School it's not like there's a web.com senior tour where you can still make moderately good coin.

Went to PGATOUR.com today and saw their Power Rankings for the Hero and thought to myself "watch them not put Tiger last." Sure enough, he's 16th ahead of Chappell and Noren. Not that those features should be given a whiff of credibility, but jeez.
