He'll never fix his driver. It's been crooked basically his entire career, save 2000. Haney semi-fixed it for a spell, but that's about three swings ago.

I actually think his chipping will be mostly ok, even good, until the pressure mounts. The last real round he played (and I'm throwing out the entire stupid comeback last year) was the Wynham, when he legit could have won if not for blading the shit out of a ball over the green on the back 9 (which led to a triple). The scar tissue is real and that's where the fanboys are going to feel heartbroken if he does get into contention. One of the great myths of his career is that people think he's impervious to pressure. That was true once, perhaps. But it hasn't been true for nearly 10 years. When he lost his Alpha Aura because of the sex scandal, he started to feel people's judgmental eyes on him. His swing actually looked good going into the 2015 Open Championship, and then he literally hit a 12-handicapper 4-iron on the first tee, digging a trench behind the ball, and then hit an 8 iron about 120 yards into the burn. He gets shook by pressure now, and that's why I really wish he'd take this whole thing slow instead of giving into everyone's fantasy that he strut back into the mix with a swaggering dick.

Maybe in the Jupiter Island divorced socialite scene, but not on the golf course. Not anymore.

The breathless tweeting of Tiger's practice round is a little much, TBH. Golf Channel needs some damn salt peter.

I would really enjoy the bits and pieces of Tiger sounding like his game is returning, if only I could.

But I won't get fooled again. He'll have to do it a few weeks in a row before I'm all in.

Holy shit, if he can make a comeback on one leg, I'll be really impressed.

Thing is, I don't like being skeptical about his comebacks. I want him to come back. It would be good for golf for him to get some of the magic back.

And on the other side of what DD said, his opponents back then were at a major psychological disadvantage playing against him when he was so dominant. Players feared him, puckered and faded.

Now, not so much. An after thought. Advantage is now with the field. And in this sport, attitude and psychological factors are huge.

    Better odds on today's round:
    Him shooting 67.
Him being +6 after 9 and WD.
