My entire work Twitter feed is covered by Tiger splooge. I hope he does well, but the media fawning is almost enough for me to root against him.

Two shots off the lede through 14.

I know he has a lot of poor personal qualities.

But I root for people like him who maniacally pursue excellence at all costs. (And that might even be a poor personal qualities). They fascinate me.

Count me in the kind of impressed crowd right now.
4 deep through 14, playing par 5 15th right now.
He doesn't act like he's just steering it around right now.

5 birdies, 1 bogey through 14 ... pretty damn nice start.

I don't know about the rest of you, but it feels almost surreal to me to see him on the first page again.

And the bogey on the par 5 9th.....shouldn't have been.

    73 last year.
    Love number this year.
    I'm sure he'd take it.
    And the score too.

What's a love number? Did you mean low number?

    He looked great.
He still seems like he's swinging too hard. I'd say "He knows his body better than we do" but that's actually not been true in recent years.
    This course is super easy.
The chunked chips were ugly. Scars still linger there.
He's still the greatest iron player who ever lived, and probably the greatest putter too. That's still there.
I hope this can continue. Really hope he will take it slow.

Thanks ESPN for sending me an alert that this was Tiger's lowest round since the 2015 Wyndham. No sh*t, considering all he has played since then was last year's Hero and a couple stray WDs.
