Would it have been illegal for Flynn to have asked the Russian ambassador to hold of on kicking Americans out of Russia in response to our eviction of Russians, and the seizing of the Russian compounds, because once Trump was in office, we would have a different relationship with Russia, and would re-evaluate sanctions?

I don’t think it would have been.

But, once he lied about it to the FBI, he committed a crime. He should have been honest with them.

I think we all knew that when Russia didn’t respond in kind to our evictions, it was based on reassurances they had received from the incoming Trump administration. There was no reason to lie about it.

 

It’s funny when it comes from people like YF. But the fact that we have a full-on evil Empire propaganda machine passing as national news is not funny.

Gotta figure everyone on Mueller's list is waiting right now to see how far Trump is willing to go with that whole "pardon everybody" gambit.

If Flynn is left out on his own -- which of course will happen, because loyalty is a one-way street for Trump -- it's going to loosen many more lips.

 

I'm sure it's all a big misunderstanding and Flynn feels bad and feels it's his duty to plead guilty in a federal indictment so we can move on and start making America great again. I'm sure Mueller interviewing Kushner with lawyers present after Flynn had likely proffered with Mueller was just a friendly get together, and not at all a methodical and clinical prosecution tactic frequently used to see if a bigger target is lying about what Flynn has already agreed to give Mueller in exchange for letting him serve as a cooperative witness for the government.

 

Flynn was also one who enjoyed leading the "lock her up" chants on the campaign trail, iirc.

 

The New York Office of the FBI has been politicized. They’re working against Hillary, and leaking to Kallstrom and Giuliani in order to help Trump!

(No evidence of this has ever been shown, but Democrats had no problem accusing FBI agents of working on behalf of their opponent.)

But, the FBI headquarters was unresponsive to, and lied about, requests for information from Congress and the media about the Clinton-Lynch meeting, and we're not supposed to care.

 

It's not that @YankeeFan thinks the Russia investigation is necessarily a nothingburger.

It's just that he's a fiscal conservative and thinks that it should be tabled until the feds wrap up the Whitewater inquiry.

 

Meanwhile, the awful tax bill has the votes to pass. Gonna be painful for a lot of people.
