So, Flynn conspired with Russia, failed to register as a foreign agent, plotted with Turkey to kidnap the US based cleric they blame for the coup attempt, among other crimes, but was allowed to plead to only making false statements to the FBI — all because he was willing to finger Jared as the guy who told him to call the Russians, and the other members of the UN Security Counsil, about trying to delay the vote condemning Israel, during the transition?

This same group of senators who can't wait a couple days to vote on the literally scribbled-in details of the tax bill went about 10 months without voting on Obama's Supreme Court nominee.

People who attempt to communicate political or philosophical points via twitter are shallow and intellectually weak. No wonder you know who he is.

So you are good with how this bill is coming together? This is how things should work?

It’s good with it. It will be good with political show trials and executions of trump dissidents next year.

Flynn likely did all those things, and we'll find out who he fingered and what he had to say when Mueller releases the next round of indictments, not when we get the next media leak. The fact that you think Flynn was the end target here and he plead guilty because they DIDN'T have the goods on him for other stuff is baffling. You know exactly as much as Mueller wants us to know right now. The whole point is to make others sweat by worrying them about what Flynn has and what he might say. That's how this works. It actually makes me a little sad that your wishcasting here is blinding you to the reality. Someone is fucked. Might just be Jared, might just be Don Jr., might just be Sessions, might be Pence. The fact that we don't know is the whole point. Mueller is not an amateur at this.

Yeah. The guy who is a professor at the US Naval War College, and has a Masters from Columbia and a PhD from Georgetown, is surely intellectually weak.

What are your credentials again? LOL.

The argument isn't that Flynn is the end of the line. The idea is that Flynn pleading guilty to lying but not to any sort of directly illegal Russian activities proves there were no illegal Russian activities. Or at least suggests it.

It's kinda, sorta true. It's unlikely that the Mueller investigation will lead to any direct proof of illegal promises made to the Russians in exchange for campaign help. It's possible if any of them were dumb enough to keep around written notes or something, but otherwise, you can't ever prove (to the happiness of Republican congress, at least) that the things that the Russians did for Trump and the things that Trump does for the Russians were the result of an explicit agreement. Even if it's insanely obvious, you can't prove it to a degree that will hold up in a skeptical Congressional hearing.

Of course, this is a continuation of the partisan cravenness that can't tell the difference between doing what's best for the country (addressing the incredibly obvious problem that Trump is compromised by Russia) for playing partisan games of accusation and denial.

And all of this is besides the point, because Trump and his underlings committed obstruction of justice (which is what got Nixon forced out) and lied under oath and to the FBI to help cover up the meetings with Russia that they are not claiming are legal (lying about legal stuff under oath got Clinton impeached).
