And maybe sore from the past couple of days.

If that’s all it is, still a good sign for Woods.

Seems pain free. And has been able to move the ball how he wants (until today).

But pain-free would be all that matters if you’re a person who’d like to see him relevant again.

I've never seen Tiger perspire like he has this week.

    Nobody doing anything today.
Rickie best round on course right now (-2 through 17)
Daniel Berger shot 70 playing with Koepka as one of the dew sweepers this morning.

It's almost like he's playing without opioids for the first time in 15 years or something.

    From USA Today story:

“I'm very happy, very happy that I've hit the ball as well as I have, the feel of my putter, overall shaping of shots and just trying to put together a round,” Woods said. “As I told you guys at the beginning of the week, I haven't had a scorecard in my hand in a while. So overall I'm very happy with what's going on this week. There were a lot of questions that I had, I'm sure you guys have had, and I feel like I've come out on a good side this week.”

A 3-over 75 is far from the end of the world.

I agree. I wonder what Brooks Koepka thinks of his tournament, not that anyone has asked him.

Yeah. Watched when he was struggling. Not good. But making bogeys, not doubles.

Didn’t see the last several holes. A solid sign for him that what looked like 80 he was able to grind out 75.

I’ll withhold judgement until March. But if the pain is gone, he seems capable of being a factor in some events this season.

Just want to see him complete multiple tournaments. It's been a while since he's been able to do that. Getting through four days with a surgically repaired back is a bigger deal than any score he shoots.

If "being a factor" is his best case, and I think it is, I wonder if he'd walk away. I remember Jack Nicklaus at his last Senior PGA (2004) saying he was leaving because he didn't want to be just "competitive." He made a bad medicine face and said, "what's that mean, finishing 10th? Yuck."

The field is so deep right now that just "being a factor" is probably the best Tiger can hope for. He's never going to dominate the way he used to. But he can be a factor. And he can win if he's got his best stuff.

4-under 68 today for Woods, 8-under for the weekend. Today included driving a 332-yard hole and dropping the eagle putt.

Rickie Fowler, BTW, is eating this course alive today. Minus-11 through 15, running away with it.
