I wonder if the reporter is as prominent as the prominent posters here.

At what point does the pre-emptive “Are you clean?” question start to come up, especially with politicians? It would be very interesting to parse some of those answers.

Looks like we need a ruling. @Pete?

Do you mean, like, asking people if anything untoward is going to surface about them?

Yes. Similar to the steroid questions that have been referenced here.

Does Paul Ryan or Chuck Schumer deserve the moral authority here? That kind of thing.

I signed a deal with some "Hollywood" people a couple of weeks ago. We were having breakfast, and I just asked straight up: "Any of you going to get caught up in this? Because I can't get my hopes up and then have everything go to shit because..." I just kind of trailed off, because I didn't know how to finish the sentence. ("...because you're rapists?") They all said no, and I felt a little better about things, but I'm not sure that anyone is going to admit to anything in that scenario. I get your question—because I asked it, too—but I'm not sure of its efficacy, if that makes sense.

    It’s a difficult question.

The people leading the industry rehab, in whatever industry, should have to answer it — not least because they would be opening themselves up to extortionists if they don’t.
