I've flown Spirit and I'd fly it again. But you're right, you better keep your eyes on the prize or your savings are going to evaporate.

In defense of greater transparency, I would note that if you buy a trip on, e.g., Travelocity, it might have a Spirit flight as part of it. And it won't be clear that that portion of your flight will be substantially different from the rest of it. However, that to me is an issue with Travelocity's lack of transparency, not Spirit's.

  2. Roy Moore: America Hasn’t Been Great Since Slavery
Remarks made by Alabama Senate candidate and accused child molester Roy Moore are surfacing where he argued America hasn’t been great since slavery was the law. He made the remarks during a September campaign speech in response to a question from an African-American man asking when America was last “great” (referencing Donald Trump’s infamous ‘Make America Great Again’ slogan).

The LA Times reported at the time:

At Moore’s Florence rally, the former judge outlined all the wrongs he sees in Washington and “spiritual wickedness in high places.” He warned of “the awful calamity of abortion and sodomy and perverse behavior and murders and shootings and road rage” as “a punishment inflicted upon us for our presumptuous sins.”

In response to a question from one of the only African Americans in the audience — who asked when Moore thought America was last “great” — Moore acknowledged the nation’s history of racial divisions, but said: “I think it was great at the time when families were united — even though we had slavery — they cared for one another…. Our families were strong, our country had a direction.”

    [Emphasis Mine]

I understand why the companies like being able to gouge their customers more - I just don't understand how these requirements put such a burden on them. Smart companies will continue to treat customers well and let them know how affordable they are compared to the competition.
One nice thing about the de-regulation efforts - I imagine a website hybrid of Yelp and Consumer Reports could take off by holding businesses accountable now that the government won't be. Companies really don't know how badly they can be damaged by social media. I imagine they will find out quite soon.

Mrs. Whitman always gets a kick out of how indignant people get when a newspaper throws up a paywall.

Families were being torn apart in the most fundamental way all the time.

Just not the families of people he and his like count as people.

I will occasionally end up with my "Good Morning, Asshole" cup at work, but it's easy to hide.

Snowing tonight and ALL my coffee mugs are piled up in the front seat of my car. Not going outside so I'm drinking out of this right now.

    Know what pisses me off?

Going to the grocery store, and all these things come in BOXES that I'm going to have to open anyway when I get home.

Why can't I pay for just the product? Why do I have to pay for the packaging?!?!

Another guy who likes to masturbate in front of women:

Assemblyman Matt Dababneh said Friday he is resigning from office at the end of the month, a decision that comes four days after he was publicly accused of masturbating in front of a lobbyist and other inappropriate behavior.

In a resignation letter, Dababneh said the allegations against him are untrue and said he expected a legislative investigation would “bring to light and into focus the significant and persuasive evidence of my innocence.”
