No joking about no cheering in the press box

Is this the official team account trolling writers covering its opponent? Good gawd.

Does this mean there were actually multiple media outlets traveling from Nashville for a hockey game? If so, great.

I think the game was in Nashville - it was the Knights' dad's trip, and P.K. Subban took a selfie with his dad (wearing a Knights jersey) and his brother (the Vegas goalie for those of you who don't follow the game).

Adam Vingan is a friend of mine. The guy who does social for Vegas is a friend of mine. Really curious what that original tweet said, did I miss it in the story?

You don't cheer in the press box because if you do, everyone there will blame you for whatever happens no matter what it is.

It's goddamn distracting inside or close by when you are trying to think, and live mics can pick it up. Crowd noise from the other side of the glass is enough.

The odds were good they were cheering. I reckon the Knights people figured it wasn't worth the headache and decided to flush and apologize. It was interesting to see who showed up in the comments.

When I was in college and before I started writing I got a sweet gig passing out stats and other notes during the '87 World Series in Oakland. McGwire hit a home run to win the only game for the A's and I let out a whoop or something and was hit in the arm by Hal Bodley of USA Today (he was probably grumpy sitting way out beyond the left field foul poll) "No cheering in the press box!" I get it. It was a great moment and a decent story. Would have been better if it was Dick Young or Lupica....Even more interesting, I also passed out notes to some folks who became colleagues a few years later.
(Sidenote - I noticed the Washington Post's Tom Boswell seat was in my section as well, seated next to a weekly in Vacaville as far away from home plate as the A's could place him. Probably had something to do with his "Jose Canseco milkshakes" quote.)

Helluva good stat on the Vegas SiriusXM channel the other day -- teams playing on their Dads' trip were something like 23-7 last year. Now that's something to take to the windows.

"But the real action, as always, was on Twitter."

    Please, please make it stop.
